John Quinlan from Thatch Cottage Ireland reports that the bassing around Cahersiveen has been top class and looks set to continue…

Apologies for not keeping the website up to date.  Fishing recently has been top class.  Big pollock have been turning up on a regularly basis with Pete Turner getting the best one recently at over 11lbs.  Mark Bischof who was with us for a few days last week caught his first Irish bass followed by plenty more.  Most were taken on soft plastics with a few on diving minnows.  He also landed pollock to 7lbs.

Husband and wife team Simon and Claire Jackson enjoyed some world class sport casting to surface feeding bass.  Both Simon and Claire beat their previous personal best.

The unseasonably mild conditions have really kept the bass feeding hard.  All the fish have been in excellent condition and are feeding hard on sand eels.  While this weather continues there is no reason why this quality fishing should not continue.
