Colm Quinlan and Mick Fleming visited Co Fermanagh for a fishing holiday recently. The pair were pike fishing and enjoying a good day despite the biting cold weather.

Mick, who has only recently taken to fishing, had by far his most impressive fish to date. Trolling a rubber perch lure on Upper Lough Erne Mick felt a solid hit and his rod bent over. He had hooked into what he thought was a very respectable pike. As the fight played out it was suddenly clear that he had caught himself a fine trout, weighing almost 12 lbs.  Colm held the fish in the water for a couple of minutes to ensure he was fully revived. Colm told us “When he was ready he turned his head and appeared to smile. And so did we. Then off he went.”
