25/02 – 03/03: Conditions were fair on the lough this week. In fact many days were too still and bright! Still, a nice complaint after all the wet weather and wind since the year began. There was a fine 6lb trout caught in the Rossinver Fishery by Noel Johnston while trolling off Ward’s Point on Saturday and also another trout of 6lb caught along the Garrison Shore. I do not yet have details of the captor of this fish.
There have been sparse hatches of Duck Fly but as yet there have has been little trout angling effort. The forecast is for wetter more variable weather but somewhat milder which should improve the fishing.
