Evening fishing on the River Liffey around Clane area is somewhat slow at present as the hatches of sedges are sparse.
There is a reasonable hatch of Blue Winged Olives and a fall of Sherry Spinners in the late evening but it is localised.
The recent rainfall will put a small but much needed rise and a slight colour in the water which should improve day time as well as the evening fishing.
The New Zealand style will probably work best in the afternoon with the dry fly being the best method for late evening.
Fly casting instruction in both Trout & Salmon for complete novices or more experienced anglers just wishing to improve their techniques. Tuition can be arranged either individually, in pairs or a group. EQUIPMENT CAN BE PROVIDED. We also provide Guided Packages on the River Liffey. There is a large stock of Brown Trout in the Liffey, with the average size of 30cm on some stretches, with trout in excess of 2lb being a real possibility.
