Michael Flanagan, Angling Guide and Reporter, captured some great shots of the Mayfly hatch on Lough Sheelin last week…

Its very hard to catch a fly in flight on the camera, but we got some nice shots of Spent dancing on Sheelin.

When the lake is alive with May Fly, and the trout certainly taken a shine to   the abundance of food. Mind you it’s a case of being in the right place at the right time, and over the June weekend Marty Smith from Macklesfield got it bang on. One evening we boated 8 super fish, and had fish to 5lbs plus. We also met two great characters from Trim on Sheelin, and John Ganley and Angling pal Henry Sheridan were reeling them in on the Dap.
