Rob Love from Carton House laments the change in weather but expects angling to improve…

Oh the joys of living with the North Atlantic as your neighbour.  Just as we thought it was time to light up BBQ’s and start wearing shorts & T shirts we are back to rain, rain & more rain.

There is a flip side to the coin though.  River fishing has been quite challenging over the last few weeks with the Rye proving to be no exception.   Now with a little more ‘push’ to the water and perhaps not too much but a little colour daytime outings should be more productive.

Nymphs such as Hares Ears, PTN’s and Copper Johns are certainly worth trying as are simple spider patterns along the lines of Waterhen Bloa and Orange & Partridge.
