Josie Mahon reported on Session 3 from the River Fane Yesterday morning. Anglers were only having one session on Wednesday morning and after this we would be past half way in the competition. Weather conditions were quite favourable on the second day with light winds and cloudy conditions. 10 competitors fished this stretch, with in excess of 8 fish caught by one competitor (to be verified by FIPS International judges). Conditions proved challenging generally with low water levels due to the exceptionally dry conditions we have been experiencing over the last month. However, a downpour was most welcome just as competitors were reeling in their lines! TAFI provided excellent stewardship and organisation of this section and catches in general are reported as fair for Day 2 on the River Fane.

When the official results for the session were posted the River Fane had produced another 43 measurable trout with many more undersized fish also being taken. This takes the total measurable catch from the Fane to 157 trout for the three sessions. Top position on the Fane on Day 3 went to Hunter Enloe USA, Second place went to Libor Marienka CZE, and third place went to Michael Conroy Ireland 2. With two sessions left to go on Thursday 25th July, the USA, Canada, France and Ireland are still battling it out at the top for team and individual honours.
