David McEvoy reports from Delphi:
05/04/2013: With extremely difficult conditions we  managed to land 3 fish this week, despite the river now being at 0.
Peter Morrison of Morrison pool fame was the first in the book this week, with 1 from the Holly pool on Tuesday. Unlike 20 years ago Peter actually managed to hang on to the fish this time. The fish was landed for him by his long time fishing companion Keith Pilkington. It must be said that Keith did show Peter where the fish was, that was after he had failed to tempt it himself. It weighed in at 8lbs3ozs, was taken on an Allie shrimp and incredibly had sea lice on it.

We landed 2 on Wednesday. Doug  Keating who was juggling between family time and fishing managed to land  a fish of approx.8lbs from Goffs bay in Finlough on a Tosh variant.
This was then followed by Joe Burke who on his first fishing visit to Delphi had a fish from Salmon City on Fin of 7lbs4ozs on a Collie Dog.

The river is now at 0 and while there are still a few fish to be seen, it’s extremely difficult to work the fly at this level. The lake has a much better chance of yielding fish in the current conditions. Hopefully we will have rain in the next few days and then who knows!!
