Lough O’Flynn was the venue for the Donnellan Cup on Sunday June 9th June,  an annual event run by the Lough O’Flynn  and District Angling Association. Angling conditions on the day can only be described as tough with high temperatures and a warm breeze to greet the enthusiastic anglers.  14 boats with 28 Anglers on board took part and returned 33-fish for their efforts.   The winning combination on this occasion were two Roscommon cousins Derek Madden from Tulsk, and his Castlerea Cousin Gary Madden, a junior angler, with a winning catch of 7 fish for 10lb 03.6 oz.   In recent years this competition has been won by mostly Galway anglers.
