Joe Fitzharris reports that English visitors Adrian Blackwell and Alan Bennett enjoyed excellent fishing over 2 days catching and returning 30 trout up to 2lb last week.
Junior anglers Gary Madden, Castlerea, and Tommy McGee ,Dunmore, caught 15 fish, the best 1.5 lb, for an evening. All the trout were returned.
Denis Kelly Roscommon had several fish with2 good ones around 2lb.
Most anglers have been catching and rising fish when good conditions prevail with a big increase in catch and release something that Joe has promoted for years with the junior anglers. The slogan Joe uses to promote C&R fishing is “To valuable to be only caught once” and it works with young anglers which is encouraging.
