The annual Arva Fishing Festival 2014 took place last week with 75 anglers taking part in the five day festival. Venues fished were Corfree, Rockfield, Glasshouse, Gulladoo, Rosduff.
The winners were as follows:
- 1st. Neil Parkinson 91.720kg
- 2nd. Wayne Easter 82.030kg
- 3rd. Eddie Brydon 70.360kg
- 4th. Graham Firth 70.130kg
- 5th. Carl Heptinstall 65.430kg
- 6th. Kevin Rowles 62.080kg

There are plenty of Tench, nice Hybrids and Roach being caught in the Ballinamore area with Bolganard, Corgar and Drumlonan reported to be giving good bags of fish. “Beautiful” Hybrids are being caught on Drumlea also. The canal and bridge at Carrigmakeegan is also giving good Hybrids and Roach.
Good mixed bags have been fished at Rann while the river opposite Emerald Star off jetty is producing good bags of fish some bags up to 17lb.
Bairds Shore and Bream Rock on L Sillan is producing plenty of Roach, Hybrids and Skimmer Bream
