The fifth round of the Erne Anglers Float Only league took place over the weekend on 07 December with an excellent turnout of 24 anglers in blustery, cold conditions. This round was fished on the Roslea Lake of Inver, Lyons, Gavin’s, and Killyfole, with the two of the top three anglers coming from Inver.
A week of cold temperatures slowed sport, however overall plenty of small roach and odd bonus bream and perch were still landed on Pole tactics.
In first place was Ireland International angler Tommy Dowd (Virginia) 5.750Kgs on Inver peg 16, Tommy’s catch was mainly Roach taken on the pole.
Runner up was Ewan Weed (Omagh) 2.750Kgs on Inver peg 14.and in third place was Steve Finchett (Ballyconnell) 2.470Kgs on Lyons peg 9. Steve’s catch included 2 good Bream again taken on the Pole.
Other section winners were Vince Walsh (Raphoe) 2.000Kgs on Killyfole 17 Perch over chopped worm, and James O Doherty (Enniskillen) 2.000kgs on Gavin’s.
Round six, the final match of the league, will be fished on the same venues in two weeks’ time.
