Fisheries Awareness Week has just passed its mid-way point this evening Wednesday with a coarse angling demonstration by the Drogheda Coarse Angling Club at Rosehall reservoir. The lads will be doing a further event at the same venue on Saturday morning from 10am till 2pm. A number of successful events have already been run including open evenings at Kilineer Reservoirs for Adults and Children. A well-attended “Ladies Fly Casting Day” in support of Action Breast Cancer was held at Kilineer on Saturday 17th May and “An Introduction to Sea Angling” was held by Boyne Sea Angling Club on Sunday 18th May. Further events are planned for the coming days including “An Introduction to Fly Fishing for Adults” at Kilineer Reservoir on Friday evening and “An Introduction to Coarse Angling” at Rosehall on Saturday 24th May from 10am till 2pm. Fisheries Awareness Week for 2014 finishes up with a great sea angling event at Port Beach Clogherhead on Sunday 25th May from 2pm till 6pm and all are welcome to attend. If you are interested in taking part in any of the remaining events and want to “give angling a go” please contact John Murphy or Peter Cunningham at the numbers below.
