A LIFFORD man who was caught poaching salmon in a protected area was convicted and fined €1,000 in his absence at a recent sitting of Letterkenny District Court.
Thomas Galbraith, with addresses at 20 Beechwood Grove, Lifford and 15A Urney Road, Strabane, was charged with illegal fishing and possession of an illegal net at Drumonaghan, Ramelton, on the River Lennon.
He failed to appear in court.
