Joint Workshop – IFM and IBIS

Workshop theme: “Applied Research in Fishery Management

The Institute of Fisheries Management, Ireland Branch in partnership with IBIS is hosting a one day seminar on the topic of applied research in fishery management. This event will present practical examples of where various organisations with an interest in inland or inshore fishery management have utilised applied research to ensure effective and efficient implementation of their management responsibilities. Within the context of stringent budgets and high stakeholder expectations it is now more important than ever to ensure management actions are based on sound research which can be applied to aid with the development of key sectors within our economies.

Speakers will include representatives from, The Rivers Trust, The Wild Trout Trust, Loughs Agency, Agri Food and Bioscience Institute/Department of Culture Arts and Leisure (Inland Fisheries Division), Scottish fisheries organisations, Inland Fishery Conservation Authority and IBIS students.
