Pawel Orlow reports that the final Fishmaniak pike boat competition was held on Sunday 9th of November ’14 on Derravarragh Lough. The competition started at 9.00am. Following a meeting and short briefing each team got a club’s measuring tape. Fishing was very difficult as the water level was so high.
During our match we had typical Irish weather, a mix of clouds and sun and some showers of course. 13 contestants who took part on this venue managed to catch 22 pike all together, most of them jacks. The biggest fish was caught by Kamil – pike 79cm. After the event we had a barbecue and the prize-giving.
The Results of the Competition are as follows:
1st place – Maciej Zielinski – 7 pike/287 cm of total length
2nd place – Cezary Kowalski – 3 pike/178cm
3rd place – Maciej Tokarski – 4pike/169cm.
This was our last competition this year but we are already looking forward for next season. A big thank you to Swords Angling Centre who sponsored a prize for this competition.
