Lindsey Clarke reports from the RIVER DROWES – Monday 30th June to Sunday 6th July 2014.
With the lack of rain, the Drowes ran at very low summer levels all week once again. A few rods did fish and recorded salmon caught. Nearly all the grilse recorded were caught in the Sea Pools, the Mill Pool or below the Four Masters Bridge. The best of the records was probably Brett McKee who recorded 2 grilse caught from the Mill Pool on a fly on Friday and 3 further grilse caught on prawn from the Sea Pools on Saturday. A Spanish party of 3 rods left on Saturday. They recorded 13 salmon caught for their fortnights fishing. The Drowes really could do with some water and we are praying for a little rain!
