11/07/14 I start in the get your facts right department i.e. yesterday I reported that Mr. Graham Elwood and Mr. Meurig Parsons, fishing with their Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com caught 5 Sea Trout on the drift, well in fact they caught 7 fine Sea Trout and staying with Mr, Neil O’Shea and his backdate hired out boat department, Mr. Peter McBarthy caught 3 Sea Trout and Mr. Eddie Blanch also caught 3 Sea Trout and last but not least local Gillie Mr. Michael O’Sullivan of Waterville Boats and at [email protected] caught a few Juniors. Now today’s action and it all comes from the Bungalow, Mr. Graham Elwood and Mr. Meurig Parsons, fishing with their Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com caught 6 Sea Trout on the drift, ranging from 1 lbs up to 3 lbs and finished their day off with a fine 8 lbs Salmon all caught on the fly. Wind light W with a hint of NW at times and overcast. Now to my criticism department, today there were a good few boats out manipulating their flies and alas they didn’t report their catches, how do you expect me to report the facts of this great fishery if you can’t take the time to text your catches. So please let your fingers do the talking at the end of the day by texting 0872074882  Thank you.

12/07/14 There was only one good battle with my Noble salmon in the hired out boat department of Waterville Boats and at [email protected] and I will say one thing you can’t keep this angler out of the limelight, when he comes down from Northern Ireland, and that is Mr. Andy Wishart, and for good reason, he caught a fine fresh 5 lbs Grilse on the troll and if you go back on the Salmon and Sea trout notes, this will confirm it. Now to the [email protected] Sea trout department, the Commander-in-chief  of Waterville Boats Mr. Michael O’Sullivan, reports that there were 6 Sea Trout and a few Brown Trout taken on the fly, in his hired out boats. Now we go down the North Shore to the Bungalow and staying in the Sea Trout Department, Mr. Graham Elwood and Mr. Meurig Parsons, fishing with their Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com caught 2 C&R Trout on the drift, and Mr. Keith Francis caught one C&R Junior, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea of www.flyfishingatloughcurrane.com Wind, there was a good Westerly all day, then veered N this evening, light to fresh and overcast with the odd heavy shower.  A Message from W.F.D.G.

13/07/14 Germany may have won the World Cup, but there is nothing like catching your first Sea Trout on the fly, on Lough Currane the premier Sea Trout Lake in Ireland, and that is exactly what Mr. Ben Frances did when he caught himself a fine Sea Trout of 5 lbs. on the fly, then Ben’s Father, Mr. Keith Frances also got in on the act with a fine 2 lbs. Sea Trout and released another Sea Trout of 1 ½ lbs. and Guided by their Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea of www.flyfishingatloughcurrane.com  and just for the record extra time wasn’t needed. Now we cut across the Lake to the South side and hired out boat department of www.lakelandshouse.com Mr. Shane and Fran O’Neill  from Co Down, caught 8 Sea Trout on the drift today and in the last few days they have added 7 more to their basket. Wind SW fresh with bright sunshine all day.

Now to Michael’s hired out boat department, Mr. Andy Wishart on Northern Ireland, caught a cracker of a Salmon on the troll in the 12 lbs. Class and Andy was telling me that he had won hell of a battle with his Noble Salmon.
