Pollack plentiful but bass less so for fly fly anglers in Cork Harbour last week

Louwrens Badenhorst from South Africa visits his good friend Dr Jacques Bronkhorst in Ireland for a spot of Saltwater Fly Fishing nearly every year. Both are passionate about their fishing and the Doc decided to guide his buddy in Cork Harbour from his own boat for bass and pollack on the fly. Whilst the pollack were plentiful the bass were elusive with only Jacques managing to catch one. He would have preferred if the visitor had managed to get that fish.

As the doctor had to return to work Louwrens decided to enlist the help of a good guide, namely Richie Ryan. The guide took him to a good mark and managed to get a bass on the fly in the first few casts. Richie was quoted as saying that “Jacques should stick to the day job” !
