Charter skipper Mark Gannon reports on deep sea and some inshore fishing for his clients fishing out from Courtmacsherry.
So far I think it’s fair to say that this is one of the best summers we have had in awhile and the fishing has been equally good. In the past week, there was good reef fishing with our anglers taking pollack to 11 lb., conger to 30 lb., Ling to over 24 lb., bull huss, Thornbacks and spotted rays, dabs, plaice and all were good sized fish.
We caught and tagged many Blue sharks to 2m along with plenty of sport with garfish, and in the estuary, the bass fishing has been producing fish to 8 lb. for Evin o Sullivan on live bait and a session with Jim and Markjohn on lures produced 17 fish the heaviest 7.5 lb. Evin caught his bass this evening after we returned from a sharking trip.
