Enda Fields reports that a number of youths from Emyvale and Monaghan attended a recent Ulster Fly Fishing development workshop; organised courtesy of Co Tyrone based Loughmacrory & Murrins District Angling Association.

Campbell Baird from the Anglers Federation Of Ireland (TAFI) is the national youth officer and was on hand to give expert fly tying instructions and advice to the Emy and District youths. Campbell managed and coached the Irish youth national fly fishing team to silver medal position at last year’s world youth fly fishing championship. Emy lough was one of the venues for the 2013 world youth competition.
