Last year Sue and Vin Heron from Lincolnshire visited Cork Harbour for bass and mixed angling and booked local guide Richie Ryan. Having never before returned to the same fishing grounds for a second time, the couple decided to break with tradition and fish from Cobh again this year as they had enjoyed the experience so much. In particular the bass fishing exceeded their expectations.
The couple booked Richie for 6 days, one of which had to be cancelled due to bad weather. The guide was delighted that Sue and Vin caught bass each day he was with them. In fact on the last day Sue out fished Vin by catching four bass to Vin’s two. In addition they experienced the thrill of pollack on the fly which they thoroughly enjoyed.
They have vowed to return for two weeks next year which is great news for Cobh and Richie.
