The Atlantic Bluefin tuna could be a vital new source of tourism revenue for Sligo if developed here. That’s according to Councillor Seamus Kilgannon who has called on the Council to write to the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Simon Coveney, to support the establishment of a recreational Bluefin Tuna Fishery in Ireland. Cllr Kilgannon says a rod and line bluefin tuna fishery would lead to increased tourist angling numbers and tourism revenue…
