The ESB will not increase the amount of water flowing through the Parteen Weir today.
It stated the level of water in Lough Derg increased marginally in the past 24 hours, but the flow will remain unchanged and will be reviewed again tomorrow.
However, the power company is warning that flooding is likely in the vicinity of the Shannon – downstream of Parteen Weir – including the areas of Springfield, Montpelier, Castleconnell, Mountshannon and the University of Limerick.
The ESB said that it is continuing to monitor the situation and will liaise with the relevant County Councils….
