NCFFI are are pleased to announce that further to a meeting held this evening with representatives from interested parties to include Roscommon and Longford County Councils and the Angling Council of Ireland, the NCFFI have accepted a proposal from the LoughRee Lanesborough Angling Hub to stage this event at the North of Lough Ree, the second largest lake on the River Shannon system. Subject to funding sources and a FIPS-ed technical inspection of the venue this November the Championships will be held here in October 2016.
It will be a pleasure to showcase this area of Ireland’s Lakelands region to the world class lure anglers also bringing a boost to the local economy in this rural area. With the support of the angling hub we can be sure to provide a warm welcome to the competitors.
