The Milford Fly Angling Club is now accepting applications for new membership for the 2015 season on Lough Fern.
Membership application forms are available from the Enterprise House in Milford or here at the Lough Swilly Angling Centre.
The Lennon System including Lough Fern opened for Salmon Angling again on the 1st of January, the first time since 2006 !
The Milford Club would like to inform all members and indeed visitors that under IFI legislation, Salmon Angling on Lough Fern and the entire Lennon system is strictly catch & release and may now only be done by single barbless hook with bait fishing strictly prohibited !
The wild Brown Trout season opened on Lough Fern on the 15th of February.
In the interest of conservation of the very precious wild brown trout, the Milford club would like to ask anglers to only retain a maximum of 2 brown trout over 11” per day on Lough Fern.
The first Open Trout Angling Competition of the season will take place on Lough Fern on Sunday,the 26th of April. Fishing time is from 12 noon until 6 pm with refreshments, weigh-in and prize giving afterwards at the club house. The prestegious Presidents cup is once again up for grabs with top prizes on offer for the heaviest Trout over 11”.
