Pawel Orlow from the Fishmaniak Fishing Club reports on the clubs latest pike competition which was held yesterday Sunday 26th April on Lough Derravaragh. The competition started at 8.30am, following a meeting and short briefing during which each team got a club measuring tape and instructions. It was a chilly enough day but the weather was quite good with mix of sunshine and showers. Trolling was the best fishing method on the day and it produced the majority of fish. The  event was very successful and 13 anglers took part in the competition. A great days fishing was had by all and the lads managed to catch 66 pike all together. The biggest pike was a lovely 98cm fish caught by Mariusz Krzyzaniak.

The Results of the Competition are as follows:

1st place; Maciej Sikora; 8 pike; 439cm of length in total

2nd place; Pawel Orlow; 8  pike – 428 cm

3rd place; Maciej Grezlikowski; 8  pike  – 388 cm.

As usual after the event the lads had a barbecue and the prize-giving.
