Laune Salmon and Trout Anglers’ Association waters and Beat 3.
As of Monday 14th of September water level now at a massive 2.3 M at the Laune Bridge or about 5 feet at Johnston’s. Totally unfishable for the next two days at least. We were hoping for some rain because the fishing was very slow with no sign of fish or fish being met apart from the occasional pull. Peter Muller one of our German members did have a lovely sea liced fish of 6 lbs at Broderick’s early in the week.
Permit Costs:
Day permits will cost €35 for the months of August and September. Be sure to display your permit on the dash of your car with the date visible and have the other part with you because you will be asked by members to identify yourself as a legitimate ‘One Day Member’ / Permit Holder.
Beat 3:
When the water falls back below 2 M this will be ideal water level for Beat 3 and fish should be met there.
Reminder:
Start times on Beat 3 is 8am and not before that. Reminder to visitors: Trout fishing on all Laune Anglers waters and on Beat 3 is by fly only on single handed rods with trout flies. (No worms allowed for trout fishing)
Prospects:
Hoped it would be better but we live in hope that a few fresh will run into the river over the next six weeks.
