Fishery manager Shane Gallagher reports on all the activities from the Drowes:
Fishing has again been pretty mixed this week. The weather turned very cold, wet and windy, making for difficult conditions. Heavy rain on Thursday night rose water levels which currently stand at 0.85 metres on the gauge at the Four Masters’ Bridge. Fishing over last weekend was quiet with just a couple of fish lost.

On Monday Andy Latimore had an 11lbs fish from Brineys on fly. On Wednesday John Parkinson had a nice 10lbs fish on flying c from the Meadow and Billy Grimes had a 7lbs fish on rapalla, also from the Meadow.

On Thursday Brian Mc Evoy released a fish estimated at 6 to 7lbs from the Meadow on spinner and Joe Broderick had an 11lbs fish on a hot firetiger rapala from the Money Hole. No fish were reported yesterday, Good Friday.

Today, Saturday Karen Ferguson had an 8lbs fish on spinner from the Sea Pool and Billy Gilbert had a 7lbs fish on a Rolla flying c from Brineys.

The weather forecast is mild and dry right up to next weekend and with today’s full moon and high tides during the week fishing conditions should improve as water levels drop.
