Micheál Quinn Chairman of the Irish Federation of Sea Anglers has been in touch this evening with some great news from the 32nd World Shore Angling Championships 2015 which is currently taking place in the Algarve in Portugal. At the end of day three of the competition, the Grauvell Irish team has got off to a flying start and is currently lying in second place just behind the French team. Other teams following on in the leading group include Spain in third place and the Netherlands in 4th.
This has been a very strong start and a great performance from the Irish team which has a very strong line-up including Captain Dean Quigley, Joe Byrne, Richie Dalton, Harry McKee Sn and Harry Mckee Jn and the lads also have a very strong, experienced and capable sub in Martin Howlin should they need to call on him. Together with the experienced management team consisting of Manager, John O’Brien and Assist Manager Mick Mullane, the Irish team is very formidable indeed and are being well supported by anglers the length and breadth of the country.
In addition to the great team performance, members of the Irish team are also doing extremely well in the individual competition and currently have three anglers in the top 20 with Captain Dean Quigley currently in first place, Richard Dalton in 4th place and Harry McKee Snr in 12th. The lads are very well placed for team and individual medals as we go into the last day and we wish them all the best and tight lines for the final day.
