The announcement by Jim Hendrick last week of dates for his 2016 saltwater fly-fishing workshop was met with a fantastic response, with the planned workshop filling up so quickly, that Jim had to consider adding additional dates due to the unprecedented demand. Unsurprisingly this second workshop has also filled up in a short period of time and the two saltwater fly-fishing workshops are now fully booked.
On his website Thirtyards Jim said “I’m overwhelmed at this time. The response to this Workshop has been phenomenal, so much so that rather than disappoint people I now find myself having to consider organising another. A big thank you to everyone it has really surprised me”.
Jim also posts “I’ll post details as I create them here in this post and alert all of you by mail. I have a lot to chat about with you all over the next few months, most of it in relation to the workshop itself and getting the best from the many aspects covered in such a short space of time”.
“I am delighted to confirm that Andy Elliott and Paula Smyth of Chasing Silver Flies whom many of you may know will be the featured tiers at the workshop. Andy was the first saltwater tier I worked directly with and his first ties of the Sloopy Droopy(Joseph Manette) changed the way I fly fished for big bass for ever.
You will find a link to the schedule of events in Wexford 2016 as they are at this time on Jim’s website below – there is a strong emphasis on a Leave No Trace ethos throughout the workshops – More later over the next few weeks.
