A number of reports have indicated that wild brown trout fishing on the River Boyne has improved in many areas. Following the drop in water levels, the water has cleared and there have been some good fly hatches as well. Many fish from half a pound to 1.5lb have been taken on fly and anglers are now awaiting the best of the sedge, olive and bwo fishing in the coming weeks. As always the Boyne always throws up a few notable fish during the season and one such fish was caught in the last couple of weeks. A superb specimen sized wild brown trout was caught by local angler Kristof Krzysiek while sedge fishing on the River Boyne. Varying estimates have been put forward as to the weight of the fish but suffice it to say that for many anglers this would be classed as the fish of a lifetime. Well done Kristof.
