Kerry TD Michael Healy Rae has criticised Inland Fisheries Ireland for “taking a monetary decision” in its move to exit rainbow and brown trout farming in Ireland.
The IFI’s fish stock management programmes rears brown and rainbow trout which is used to enhance the angling status of a fishery.
The body has recently extended for another month its public consultation process on freshwater trout production, “in recognition of the depth of stakeholders’ viewpoints on this issue”….
