The Department of Economics at the National University of Ireland, Galway, in association with Inland Fisheries Ireland, is conducting a survey of coarse anglers who fish in the Cavan and Leitrim area.
The survey is designed to examine three things:
- the site characteristics that play an important role in the choice anglers make when choosing between fishing destinations,
- the value an angler places on a day spent fishing
- and to gather information that will facilitate better management of fisheries.
The survey should take approximately 15 minutes. Survey respondents should have visited at least one of the five sites being surveyed: Killykeen Forest Park (Lough Oughter), Eonish (Lough Oughter), Dernaferst (Gowna), Church Lake (Gowna) and Garadice lake. Links containing maps and descriptions are provided below, for any angler who is not fully aware of the exact location of any of these sites.
Two of the survey respondents will win a €200 voucher to any one of the tackle shops on the inland fisheries website (see https://www.fishinginireland.info/tackleshops/index.htm for the list of available tackle shops).
Thank you, in advance, for your response. Anyone who wants any further information or would like to make any comments about the survey may do so by contacting J.Deely2@nuigalway.ie
