RIVER DROWES – Monday 19th to Sunday 30th Sept 2016.
Water levels were fair for the last 12 days of the season with the gauge hovering around 0.5 metres. Angling attendance was on the low side as one would expect at this late stage in the season but there was a number of salmon recorded over the last 12 days and some 15 salmon caught. Chris McDaid caught and released 3 grilse on a spinner one day below the Four Masters Bridge. Sean Hogshaw reported 2 grilse caught from the Blackwater on fly and a visiting French Party recorded 5 grilse weighing from 4 to 5lb caught for their weeks visit. So the season drew to an end but it will not be long before the fishing starts again with the Drowes opening on the 1st January!
