Reporting from Macroom, Eileen Carroll tells us that the salmon fishing remained poor on the Bandon last week with the low water conditions continuing. There are plenty of fish in the pools but remain reluctant to take. A flood is badly needed to freshen things up.
That’s not to say there were no fish caught. Celebrity angler Keith Barry was out with Noel Kavanagh and Brian from Watercourse Angling and had 2 salmon , one 3lbs, the other 6 lbs.
