Bannow Bay SAC Christmas Competition was fished on Sunday and they report:

The Christmas competition was on the 3 Quays with fishing very mixed.  Duncannon and Arthurstown fishing poorly and Ballyhack fishing very well.
The winner on the day was Joe McEvoy, 2nd Paddy Barnwell and 3rd Eamon Murphy.
Pool Flounder 36cm was won by our visiting Angler Adrian from Carrickfergus and Eamon Murphy with a Whiting.
Winning Junior was Keela Daly  and 2nd Fionn Daly.

Master Angler awards 2016:

Master Angler Tom Daly.
Lady Master Angler Paula Dunphy.
Heaviest Bag Jane Cantwell.
Longest Fish Paddy Barnwell.

Pools and Gold Peg were also paid out on Sunday also the most species caught during the year was won by Paddy Barnwell.

Bannow Bay Angling club was founded in 1995 by a group of anglers in the Bannow/Wellingtonbridge area to cater for all types of shore angling, fishing in the estuary and on beaches along with rock fishing in the Hook Head area to give its members a wide variety of fishing and to cater for all age groups.
