Last week it was all sharks, tope, cod and pollack for anglers with Luke Aston on the Clare Dragoon. There were also a few good ling and even a John Dory. Amongst the sharks was another porbeagle. This year porbeagles are showing signs of a come back along the south and west coasts which is really good news.

Yesterday Luke and his crew were getting lots of mackerel at the Loop. They tried the six Gill mark but couldn’t get the through the shoals of Spurdogs swarming all over it.

Sean Maguire’s anglers on the Lady Gwen were mostly over the reefs last week, where they enjoyed the pollacking. Drifts over other ground saw gurnards, and spurdogs keeping the boat busy.
