Luke Aston of the Clare Dragoon and Ssean Maguire of Lady Gwen give an update on the charter boat fishing around Loop Head and the Shannon Estuary…
13 May: Great day on the sea with red skin appearing! We were on the six gill mark but best fish of the day was a male Skate of approx 120lbs. – Clare Dragoon
14 May: Any amount of Pollack and Coalfish on the ground. Indeed the shoals of handy Coalfish are quite extensive. If they stay around and get a chance to grow we can look forward to lots of fun. We had a good look around for Mackerel but only 2 today. – Clare Dragoon
Fishing a bit slow in the morning but brilliant in the afternoon and what a lovely day to be at sea. – Lady Gwen
15 May: Some lovely fishing today. Still very few mackerel, but what a gorgeous day to be on the ocean. – Lady Gwen
16 May: Some good fishing today and we were treated to the thrill of having dolphins and minke whales swimming about the boat! – Clare Dragoon
Go fishing…
