Micheál Quinn, Hon Secretary, Greystones Ridge Angling Club (GRAC) has been in contact with some fantastic news about the clubs new state of the art clubhouse. After being first mooted by Albert Gubay of the supermarket fame 25 years ago, it has finally happened, a marina in Greystones. The Victorian harbour has now been replaced by a state of the art marina. The local clubs including Greystones Ridge Angling Club, Greystones Sailing Club, The Sea Scouts, the Rowing Club & the Diving Club all are to get new club houses in this redevelopment.
Next Monday GRAC will start the fit out of their clubhouse which has a floor are of 325m sq including a function room, a meeting room, the club office, ladies & gents shower facilities and a large work shop. It is the culmination of a 25 year dream for GRAC which was founded in 1959 and the original clubhouse on the North Beach was constructed in 1965 directly by the members.
The new club it is hoped will be a centre of excellence for Sea Angling. It is going to proceed with angling courses for young and old when completed. GRAC intent to promote Sea Angling for all with introduction to Sea Angling courses due to commence in the summer. Those interested are welcome to enquire via GRAC facebook page HERE.
