This year’s Baltimore Deep Sea Angling Festival was another great success. Overall 73 anglers took part and the event was helped along by a good dose of sunny weather and decent sea conditions. The competition format is one day of sharks fishing followed by 3 days of ground fishing. The end of each day is marked by a prize giving and knees up, barbeque or hog roast to keep the competitors in flying form. The angling was good, some lovely fish were brought to the boats and juniors anglers did well on more than one occasion. On the first day of ground fishing 13 year old Michael Collins beat all the senior anglers to win best angler of the day on points and also best edible fish with a 16lb ling. Stephen Hurley came in in 4th place on points. Michael, Stephen and 11 year old Cian Collins are fishing as a 3 man team .
