Lurgan Coarse Angling Club had their search for the ‘Angler of the year’ last Sunday and they report:
Lurgan Club Angler of the Year – Match 1 – Loughall Country Park
24 anglers braved the hard conditions on Sunday with a strong cold wind blowing all day and a frost the previous night.   Fishing was hard. Most fish that were caught were caught on the feeder with the odd fish being caught on the pole and even the slider.
Top angler on the day was Ewan Weed with 2.280kg with most of his fish being caught on the slider.

Lurgan Coarse Angling Club
The club is one of the most successful in Ireland, having won all of the main team based match fishing competitions, in some cases several times, over the last decade. The club has also a long list of International Honours earned by its members.
The club is the current Drennan Superleague title holder, having won the last event in 2007.
Our objective is to promote coarse angling in the greater Lurgan and Craigavon area.
