Frank Maunsell from the Owenmore Fishery reports:
22 May: We had great day on the river on Saturday. One Man had three trout on the first tide at 6.a.m. up to three lbs and an amount of Juniors. On the evening tide he had a number of good seatrout then decided to make up a new cast and he wouldnt be known for changing his cast but he got a new spool of line that was supposed to be the “bees knees” and on his second cast he was in to a grill of about 5 lbs which snapped the line after playing him for about 10 mins. He made up another new cast which would have been more than he made up in the last three years and duly broke on a trout of about 3 lbs but saying all that with the total amount of fish he was very happy with his day. There were three other fishermen on the river and they all had a couple of trout each. The water is dropping away but we will certainly get Sunday out of it.
