Barry roche reports on that the Garda Siochana Coarse Angling Club recently held a junior angling development event.
A very successful day was held at Meadow Lodge fishery in Maynooth, Co Kildare.
This event attracted 25 participants from all four provinces with adult members of the club were in attendance to assist and instruct the young persons and the parents present with baiting and unhooking.
All those attending caught plenty fish, including roach, perch, rudd and tench.
The event was hugely successful with many of the attendees showing an interest in continuing to learn about the sport of angling.
The Garda Coarse Angling club would like to acknowledge the financial support from IFI and Meadow Lodge fishery for supporting this event.
It is hopes similar events will continue to run in 2018.
