At the weekend Portumna Coarse Angling Club held a match and there was some fairly good angling had. The event was held at the Town and stic ups venues and 19 participants from Ireland, England and Poland fished. Once again the new stands at the Town Stretch drew a lot of compliments.
One of the competitors stated that angling participants were happy with the days fishing with final catches coming in at just under 34lbs when nets were weighed in at the end of the day. Individual catches of 1lb Bream, 1lb Roach and 2lb hybrids were the average fish weights during the competition.
