Water levels were good for the last 6 days of the season averaging 0.67m on the gauge at the Four Masters Bridge. The river finished the 2017 season well with good numbers of salmon caught. On Thursday, Paul McGowan reported 2 grilse weighing 4 & 5lb caught and released on fly from the Blackwater. Peter Cooks logged a 5lb grilse caught on fly from The Nursery.
