Billy Downes reports that as of Wednesday 3rd of May the Laune is at .8 M on the gauge at the Laune Bridge.  This is low but not hopelessly low, still fishable by all methods.  The Yellow rainfall warning obviously did not apply to Kerry because the river did not stir.

News of salmon being landed or even met by our members is non-existent.  While there are a few fish running the river and ending up in the lakes they are not willing to look at anything as they swim by.  There is also the reality that there are too few of them there for an angler to get a pull.  A few small sea trout reported.

Prospects: If we were to get a good rain fall and the river was to come up by .5 M things might improve. But there is always a chance if you venture out.

Laune Salmon and Trout Anglers’ Association
