Galway Bay Sea angling Club report that the fishing has picked up a bit in the bay. Small coalies, flounder and rockling are showing on the beaches. In Conamara small coalies, flounder, dogs and a scorpion fish for good measure.

A fine shore rockling of 30 cm for Alan Boyd in Spiddal yesterday. The small coalies are about also to keep you entertained.

Next outing 18 February

Our next outing is a double, beach fishing on Lettergesh. Hoping to get flounders, turbot, maybe a sea trout or bass here – then fishing a bit of mixed ground on Renvyle where we could have up to 10 species, between dogfish, rays, coalies, flounder, rockling, whiting, pollack, wrasse, sea trout, codling and more maybe. We are proposing Sat. the 18th of February for this – if you are interested contact [email protected]. New members most welcome. Recent members – Your flapper rigs will be fine for Lettergesh but you will need pulleys or stronger flapper rigs for Renvyle.
