Cobh SAC and Cork Harbour SAC jointly hosted the Munster League in Cork Harbour on Sunday. There were 55 anglers fishing from 7 boats on what proved to be a very enjoyable and busy day.
The competition is all catch and release but the rules were updated to further increase the survival of the fish being returned. The move was welcomed by all the anglers and well received by the charter boat skippers too. With almost 4000 fish landed in the event it makes sense to focus on fish welfare.
Results
The top 5 anglers on the day were
- Paul O’Callaghan – 129 fish, 1774 points
- Brian Whelan – 124 fish, 1765 points
- Dan Lynch – 112 fish, 1548 points
- Davy McCormack – 104 fish, 1448 points
- Pat Wright – 99 fish, 1343 points
