John Chambers of IFPAC reports that a huge pike was caught in the Cavan / Monaghan area at the weekend. Big pike angler Ronan Murray had an absolute belter of a fish that weighed in at 33lb 10oz. Ronan had spent the last 2 years working on breaking through the 30lb barrier, and at the weekend he did it with style.

Earlier in the month Ronan had set his Lure caught PB – a fin perfect 27lb river pike caught using a Savage Gear 4D line thru trout which won him Southside Angling’s fish of the Month
